Net is pleased to offer a mental health screening event to focus on anxiety and worry and to reduce the stigma in this area. We will provide screens on anxiety along with helpful information about coping skills for anxiety. We will also have members of our nursing team available to do blood pressure screenings and provide information on mental well-being and physical health.

Participants must complete a registration form and provide a signed permission slip before attendance. Trauma 101: This course introduces trauma theory, beginning with understanding the brain/body stress response, and then exploring the short- and long-term impact of adversity, toxic stress and trauma. We include discussion of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) research, Historical Trauma and Social Determinants of distress as well as buffering factors and resiliency. UrStorytellers collaborates with the City Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services (DBHIDS) to conduct a training session on storytelling. This training is a mandatory prerequisite that is a part of the Certified Peer Specialist application process. The main objective is to educate the recovery and faith-based communities on effectively sharing their narratives within community environments. If you have any concerns, please feel free to email SUPHR staff at overdose.prevention@phila.gov This training provides background information and data on opioid use, Philadelphia's drug supply, and overdoses in our city.
