    Virtual Grief Support Group – All Arms Locked

    Philly HEALs will be hosting a virtual support group for men who are experiencing grief from stigmatized loss. While we recognize that all grief can be difficult, when you lose a loved one in a stigmatized way, it can further impede the grieving process. Examples of stigmatized loss are losses due to overdose, addiction, homicide, or suicide.     We’re coming together as a community to share a meal, connect with one another, and give thanks. After lunch, guests are welcome to join us for a Coffee & Resource Hour where you can meet local organizations, learn about available community support, and grab helpful resources to take home.   • Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Group – 4th Tuesday

    The Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Groups help loss survivors cope, connect, and work toward healing. Trained group facilitators are suicide loss survivors who know, firsthand, how difficult it can be to find your way after losing someone to suicide. The groups are open to anyone 18 years or older who is grieving a loss due to suicide. No pre-registration is required, but you are welcome to send an email to let us know that you might attend. The groups are free and confidential.

    *Trigger Warning*: This training involves detailed discussions of drug use, overdoses, and demonstrations on how to use Narcan. If you have any concerns, please feel free to email SUPHR staff at overdose.prevention@phila.gov This training provides background information and data on opioid use, Philadelphia's drug supply, and overdoses in our city. There is also a detailed description of how to recognize and respond to an opioid-related overdose with naloxone, or Narcan.
