The annual Sugar Cane Festival honors the historical significance of the sugarcane crop for generations of Puerto Ricans and recognizes the sugarcane workers who migrated from the island to Philadelphia to work in the refinery.

On March 14, 2024, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker made her FY25 One Philly budget address in City Council chambers. The summer kick-off splash party resource fair will be a lot of fun for the K-8 community school families we service (West, North, and Southwest). The goal of the event is to strengthen youth, parent engagement, and provide community resources. The event also provides you with an exciting opportunity to convey educational knowledge and offer beneficial health and wellness resources via health testing and resources.

Gemma Services Partners with Main Line Health to host a Health and Wellness Fair Health and Wellness Fair in collaboration with Main Line Health with a focus sharing information on hypertension, anxiety, stress, insurance and more.

On May 15, hundreds of mental health advocates will march at the State Capitol building to call on lawmakers to invest more funding into mental health resources and professionals across the Commonwealth. The rally will include speeches from mental health leaders such as Representative Mike Schlossberg and former Deputy Secretary Joan Erney. The rally will convene on the steps of the Capitol building at 1pm on Wednesday, May 15th. We are encouraging our partners and stakeholders to attend the rally.

Understand your rights and your options. If you’ve been arrested or convicted in Philadelphia County, join us for this free event. Meet with a lawyer to review your case and discuss options for expungement or a pardon, and next steps. There will be a community resource fair, music, food and children’s activities.

This will be a event for the community to receive information from various providers on why we should be taking care of our mental health and how and where they can get help for themselves or their families. The Consortium will participate in this event providing Behavioral Health Screenings and resources for well being.

This series of Black Women and Generational Incarceration Summits will look at ecosystems for black women based on reparative justice.

ConsentFest is an outdoors, all-ages celebration of consent and bodily autonomy in all its forms! The event invites people to imagine a world where consent is a priority. Activities include: •Wedge Recovery Centers will be doing Behavioral Health Screenings •Face painting •Animals to pet (with consent!) •Vendors selling merchandise from earrings to children’s books, body oils to greeting cards •Live music •Community organizers sharing how their various campaigns are part of building consent culture •Lots of organizations committed to consent education

The conference will delve into the impact problem gambling and gaming have on various communities and  populations in Philadelphia.
