Busting Myths: Autistic Self-Advocates Speak Out

Join Johnson House Historic Site, with partner FunTimes Magazine, and discover the world of more than 500,00 nonspeaking autistic children and 1.7 million adults in the U.S. The goal of this free autistic-awareness presentation and panel discussion is to educate families of autistics of all ages across the spectrum that their family members can have lives filled with purpose, relationships, self-advocacy, and interdependence, Learn from experts and explore the talents, challenges, and shatter stereotypes preventing education and unemployment resources and opportunities. Open dialogue helps to empower these individuals by understanding the misconceptions and raising awareness for their families.
