Muslims and Mental Health Discussion [Virtual]
virtually , United StatesThe event will facilitate interactive discussions where participants can share their thoughts, ask questions, and discuss their experiences. This can create a supportive and inclusive virtual environment. We ensure that the content and discussions are culturally sensitive, respecting the diverse backgrounds within the Muslim community. Acknowledge the different cultural nuances and how they may impact perceptions of mental health. We can make sure we incorporate elements of spiritual guidance within the discussions, such as how faith and spirituality can be sources of strength and support during challenging times.

Adolescent Support Group
NAMI Philadelphia is excited to launch its Adolescent Support Group! This group is for ages 12-17 and meets every Wednesday at 5 pm on the third floor of the Scattergood Building of Friends Hospital. Participants must complete a registration form and provide a signed permission slip before attendance. This group will be facilitated by Ailkhees Ponton (aponton@namiphilly.org) and John Pillar (jpillar@bdo.com). The group will be anticipated to be from 5 pm-6 pm but may extend to 6:30 pm depending on the session. Registration Link Permission Slip

UrStorytellers Storytelling Training

Ethics Training
Philadelphia Recovery Training Center 520 N Christopher Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, United StatesThis training will meet the recertification requirements for the Pennsylvania Certification Board for Certified Recovery Specialists (CRS), Certified Family Recovery Specialists (CFRS), and Certified Peer Specialists (CPS). We are calling for mentors! The program will last 7 weeks, starting on 7/19 and ending on 8/30. We need mentors on these Fridays from 3-6 pm. The location is NOMO West Philly. Our mentorship program is in collaboration with the DBHIDS Trauma to Triumph Grant alongside other community partners and organizations.
