Storytelling is a training facilitated by Ur Storytellers in collaboration with the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many that are approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue the goal of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. The Faith and Spiritual Affairs Unit will host a 90-minute virtual Celebration of Life during National Suicide Prevention Month focused on recovery as an essential component of suicide prevention. The event will feature a moderated panel discussion with individuals who have lived experience, faith leaders, and behavioral health professionals who will discuss recovery from suicidal thoughts, recovery following suicide attempts, and the important role faith and community play in healing.
