    Storytelling is a training facilitated by Ur Storytellers in collaboration with the City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many that are approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue the goal of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories and in addition to the importance of sharing them in community settings.   • Adolescent Support Group

    Adolescent Support Group

    NAMI Philadelphia is excited to launch its Adolescent Support Group! This group is for ages 12-17 and meets every Wednesday at 5 pm on the third floor of the Scattergood Building of Friends Hospital. Participants must complete a registration form and provide a signed permission slip before attendance. This group will be facilitated by Ailkhees Ponton (aponton@namiphilly.org) and John Pillar (jpillar@bdo.com).     This 12-hour course lays the foundation of Supervision in a Peer Support Environment, grounded in understanding of CPS roles and Recovery Values. This course includes SAMHSA's Core Competencies of Peer Support, OMHSAS Standards of Supervision for Peer Support, Kadushin's Social Work model on the Functions of Supervision, Reflective Supervision basics, and examines Trauma-informed principles in a supervisory context.
