Embracing the Light Mural Dedication

Erie Avenue, Philadelphia, United StatesDedication of a community-driven mural project at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children that raises awareness about suicide prevention and mental health resources. The artist, James Burns, who has spent over a decade using art to spark conversations about suicide prevention, designed a piece that promotes dialogue and reduces stigma. This project is a result of DBHIDS Porch Light Initiative, a collaboration with Mural Arts of Philadelphia.

*Trigger Warning*: This training involves detailed discussions of drug use, overdoses, and demonstrations on how to use Narcan. Trained group facilitators are suicide loss survivors who know, firsthand, how difficult it can be to find your way after losing someone to suicide.
