Storytelling is a training facilitated by Ur Storytellers in collaboration with the City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many that are approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue the goal of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories and in addition to the importance of sharing them in community settings. This event raises awareness and provides community support around sexual, domestic, and interpersonal violence. The event begins at 5:30pm with a march (from 36th and Chestnut) to the First Unitarian church. Once there, there will be a myth busting street action, candlelight vigil, storytelling, performances, networking and resource tables, food and refreshments. This is an incredibly powerful event, and all survivors and supporter are welcome to attend. Wedge will be providing Behavioral Health screenings
