Local Resources for Veterans

Veterans Multi-Service Center – This is a local nonprofit in the Philadelphia area that provides a comprehensive resource center available to all veterans in need.

Veterans Philadelphia House – This is a place where veterans currently commuting daily between the Philadelphia VA medical center  and their homes in other parts of Pennsylvania can stay and have meals during the weekday for free.

Help USA for Veterans – Permanent housing for Veterans is available at the Brady Veterans Center and Hardy Williams Veterans Center

National Resources for Veterans

Veterans Benefits Administration – This site provides a list of services available to veterans, as well as events taking place nationwide.

Real Warriors – This site promotes the process of building resilience, facilitating recovery, and supporting reintegration of returning service members, Veterans and their families. The site also provides videos of warriors telling their stories of hope and recovery.

Veterans Crisis Line – Veterans and their loved ones can call 1-800-273-8255, chat online or send a text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Coaching into Care – Coaching into care provides a “coaching” service for family and friends of Veterans who recognize that their Veteran needs help. The service is free and is staffed by licensed clinical social workers and psychologists. 1-888-823-7458

Vets Prevail –This is an online mental health tool tailored to today’s veteran that includes peer coaching.

Recovery Village at Palmer Lake – Providing substance abuse and addiction recovery assistance to veterans.
