Supporting Youth Recovery CRS Training Program
Philadelphia Recovery Training Center (PRTC) 520 N. Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, PA, United StatesThe Council of Southeast Pennsylvania, Inc. (The Council) will offer the Supporting Youth Recovery: Peer Paraprofessional Certificate in Supporting Youth Recovery program. Unique to this program is the enhanced version of Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) approved standardized Recovery Specialist (RS) Training to prepare peer paraprofessionals to include addressing the unmet behavioral health needs of children, adolescents, and young adults with a substance use disorder (SUD) and their families to provide RS to youth and young adults in recovery from a SUD and their families.

The course centers on the recovery model of behavioral health and on the core values and practices guiding peer-to-peer emotional and psychological wellness. Online , United States*Trigger Warning*: This training involves detailed discussions of drug use, overdoses, and demonstrations on how to use Narcan. If you have any concerns, please feel free to email SUPHR staff at overdose.prevention@phila.gov This training provides background information and data on opioid use, Philadelphia's drug supply, and overdoses in our city. UrStorytellers Storytelling Training
ENON Tabernacle Baptist Church 2800 W Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia, United StatesStorytelling is a training that is facilitate by Ur Storytellers in collaboration with the City Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services. This is one of many training that has been approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue goals of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist.
