This year's retreat will bring together a diverse audience of professionals and leaders from various local agencies and organizations. Our theme is “Strengthening Connections to Improve Latino Well-Being,” focusing on how social determinants such as policies, practices, institutions, neighborhoods, and communities affect Latino health and mental health. This exciting event will occur from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at the 1500-1700 W. Wingohocking, including a full Playstreet for children on the 4500 block of 16th Street. all the resources provided are at no charge for the entire neighborhood. In collaboration with the Netter Center, Penn Adolescent Medicine will be hosting a Family Frisbee Festival on Sunday October 13th, 10am-12pm at Franklin Field on Penn's campus. The event information will be shared widely with our University-Assisted Community School communities as well as other West Philadelphia partners. The purpose of the event is to HAVE FUN learning frisbee skills with the Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance (PADA) and also to raise awareness about the health and wellness resources in West Philadelphia! Kylie Kelce will be attending as the honorary chairperson.
