The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania, Inc. (The Council) will offer the Supporting Youth Recovery: Peer Paraprofessional Certificate in Supporting Youth Recovery program. Unique to this program is the enhanced version of Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) approved standardized Recovery Specialist (RS) Training to prepare peer paraprofessionals to include addressing the unmet behavioral health needs of children, adolescents, and young adults with a substance use disorder (SUD) and their families to provide RS to youth and young adults in recovery from a SUD and their families.

We will be honoring Dr. Martin Luther King this year with an event highlighting the health disparities that exist within the community at large. We will engage vendors in the areas of nutrition, physical and mental health to assist in informing the community of the disparities that exist and how to mitigate the damage that it causes. Einstein Behavioral Health will be joining and will be providing behavioral health screenings.

Storytelling is a training facilitated by UrStorytellers in collaboration with the City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services (DBHIDS). The Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office and Catholic Community Services is hosting a winter coat distribution event January 28, 2023 from 10am to 1pm. There will be new coats, hats and gloves for distribution to those who attend the event.
