ORN Regional Summit: Xylazine
The goal of the ORN regional summits is to bring the community together in person for a full day to discuss opioid, stimulant, and other substance use in the community and to identify ways the ORN can provide free training and education to support efforts that mitigate the impact of those substances. For the April summit, we chose to focus on xylazine. Take Back the Night
This event raises awareness and provides community support around sexual, domestic, and interpersonal violence. The event begins at 6pm with a march (from 36th and Chestnut) to the First Unitarian church. Once there, there is a “Busting the Myths” street action to increase education around these issues and the importance of consent. After this there is an open speak out session where survivors and supporters are able to break the silence that often follows these experiences.
