Storytelling is a training facilitated by UrStorytellers in collaboration with the City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many trainings approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories and the importance of sharing them in community settings. The Bethany Church has organized this fair and invited several other community serving institutions such as HCCS (Hispanic Community Counseling Services) from Kensington Avenue and Allegheny Avenue (2 locations) in North Philadelphia to participate. HCCS will provide FREE Mental Health Awareness information materials to attendees and will make available FREE Behavioral Health Screenings to everyone interested in completing it on site thanks to the support of DBHIDS (Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services of the City of Philadelphia.
