Conscious Queens Wellness Workshop for Girls of Color
FINLEY RECREATION CENTER 7701 Mansfield Ave, Philadelphia, PA, United StatesConscious Queens is an annual educational workshop promoting wellness for girls of color. It is a collaboration of partners, students, and community members throughout the city and the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). Multiple community organizations will attend to share wellness techniques to educate young Black girls on how to be physically and emotionally well. Conscious Queens introduces participants to a healthier lifestyle and mindset. Conscious Queens launched in 2022 in response to ongoing gun violence in neighborhoods within Philadelphia. Respite care is short-term care for children ages 6-17. Children with a behavioral health diagnosis are eligible for short-term care.
