Conscious Queens: Wellness Workshop for Black Girls
FINLEY RECREATION CENTER 7701 Mansfield Ave, Philadelphia, PA, United StatesJoin us for an educational workshop to promote wellness for girls of color. Developed by a collaboration of partners, students, and community black girls within Philadelphia City Council District 8. This event will bring together girls who live in and near Cheltenham, Chestnut Hill, and Mt. Airy to share how to be well and practice wellness. This workshop will focus on wellness, techniques to manage anger, anxiety, and traumatic encounters. Activities will include: a discussion of black historical women, mindfulness, therapeutic techniques, yoga, and Zumba.

Conscious Queens Wellness Workshop for Girls of Color
FINLEY RECREATION CENTER 7701 Mansfield Ave, Philadelphia, PA, United StatesConscious Queens is an annual educational workshop promoting wellness for girls of color. It is a collaboration of partners, students, and community members throughout the city and the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). Multiple community organizations will attend to share wellness techniques to educate young Black girls on how to be physically and emotionally well. Conscious Queens introduces participants to a healthier lifestyle and mindset. Conscious Queens launched in 2022 in response to ongoing gun violence in neighborhoods within Philadelphia.
