Community Engagement Resources

If you want to get involved in the Philadelphia community, resources are available:

Power Interfaith Philadelphia
POWER Philadelphia has run some of the city’s largest get-out-the-vote efforts including work in 2017 that trained community residents to have live conversations with more than 32,000 infrequent voters. Since its founding, POWER Philadelphia has grown to 50 active congregations representing more than 30,000 diverse Philadelphians.

Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC)
The Urban Affairs Coalition unites government, business, neighborhoods, and individual initiative to improve the quality of life in the region, build wealth in urban communities, and solve emerging issues.

Mural Arts – Porch Light Program
The Porch Light program focuses on achieving universal health and wellness among Philadelphians, especially those dealing with mental health issues or trauma by providing opportunities to contribute to meaningful works of public art.

Engaging Males of Color (EMOC)
Engaging Males of Color (EMOC) is a targeted initiative designed to address the impact of health, economic, and educational disparities experienced by males of color. The DBHIDS EMOC Committee is made up of a culturally diverse group of men (African-American, African, Asian, Caribbean, Latino) of all ages working in collaboration with community members, academic advisers, and system partners to achieve its vision and mission.
