Free Mental Health Training
for Managers
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training increases the level of baseline knowledge about mental health and substance abuse issues and decreases the negative perceptions often associated with these themes. This training can also increase one’s confidence to intervene and refer people to the resources that do exist.
MHFA offers two primary curricula: Adult and Youth. By offering both curricula, managers will become suited to manage their employees regardless of age. By providing a complement to existing Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, implementing MHFA for managers will ensure staff can respond appropriately when mental health and substance use challenges are factors in an employee’s behavior and/or performance.
The five step action plan taught in MHFA can assist managers with proper techniques on how to approach certain troublesome topics that are not covered in Human Resources Employee Orientations generated by their companies. Managers obtain necessary strategies to positively engage staff (and colleagues) and to intervene when necessary.
