What is Healthy Minds Philly (HMP)?

It is an online tool and resource designed to support and improve the mental health and well-being of all Philadelphians, regardless of zip code, insurance or income status. Intended to look and feel different than traditional government sites, HMP is a welcoming and inviting space with a full suite of wellness tools and options, including, but not limited to, an interactive community calendar, online behavioral health screenings, access to Mental Health First Aid trainings, an online cognitive behavioral self help tool, a comprehensive resources list, and more.

Who do I contact if I am in need of services?

If you are interested in learning more about behavioral health services, you may contact our Member Services line, available 24/7, at 888-545-2600. Learn more by clicking here.

What is an online screening?

An online screening is a free, quick and anonymous way to get a “check up from the neck up”. Screenings are intended to help a person to determine if he or she may be struggling with a mental health challenge. Following a screening, a person is given a comprehensive list of resources. Please note that screenings are not a diagnosis of any kind and do not take the place of a full evaluation or conversation with a trusted clinician or doctor. Take a screening by clicking here.

What is Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)?

MHFA is an evidence-based public education program designed to teach all Philadelphians, including those who live, work, or study in our city, how to identify, understand, and respond to a person experiencing a behavioral health problem or crisis. The course teaches individuals how to intervene and provide First Aid until appropriate treatment and support are received or the crisis is otherwise resolved. Those certified in MHFA are better equipped to answer the questions: “What can I do now?” and “Where can I direct this person to get help?” Learn more and find a training near you by clicking here.
