Storytelling is a training facilitated by Ur Storytellers in collaboration with the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many that are approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue the goal of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Philadelphia is hurting—but we are healing too. “Laughing Through It” is an intentional evening of comedy, connection, and community healing. Rooted in the belief that humor is a powerful tool for resilience, this event brings together diverse voices and perspectives to create a shared space of joy. Comedy becomes the bridge that connects identities, experiences, and cultures—inviting everyone to laugh, breathe, and heal together.
