Immigrant Heritage Month Kick-off

The opening ceremony and press conference will be held in partnership with the Office of Immigrant Affairs, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, and WXPN. This event will feature cultural performances by Palante, a Latino dance company, and URIOL(우리얼), a traditional Korean percussion ensemble.

Storytelling Through Health and Wellness is a training that is facilitated by UrStorytellers and in collaboration withthe City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many training's that has been approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue goals of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories in addition to the importance of sharing them in community settings. This 4 hr training is delivered in a power point format, interactive activities also enhance this training. At the conclusion of the training, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Fitness Feeds Philly, hosted by Friends For Good and UNSUBSCRIBE, is a better way to spend your Saturday morning! Get out of the house for an outdoor workout with one of your favorite local fitness pros and some new friends! Proceeds from this series benefit Bringing Hope Home. Bringing Hope Home is a non-profit organization that provides "unexpected amazingness" to local families with cancer through financial and emotional support. Through their Light of Hope family grant, they offer a one-time grant to pay essential household bills for families with cancer. We will be sponsoring grocery and food bills for families in need with the funds raised in our Fitness Feeds Philly series!
