SUMMARY:DBHIDS Trauma 102
DESCRIPTION:Description: Building on basic understanding of trauma\, this course introduces the principles of trauma-informed care as implemented in a Peer Support relationship. We include strategies and introduction to specific tools for supporting service recipients’ recovery from trauma\, as well as strategies for managing vicarious trauma among peer service providers. This training will include the opportunity to begin to practice relevant trauma-informed skills. This course will be held virtually via Zoom.

This training structure promotes independence\, advocacy and activism\, self-awareness and reflection and a critical analysis of the impact of social determinants on the health and well-being of self and others.
