SUMMARY:Therapeutic Art- Mental Wellness and Mural Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of empowerment\, education\, and connection! \nParticipants will be provided art supplies\, wellness & safety resources within a safe space to reflect creatively. \nThis project seeks to educate and inform a safer atmosphere while beautifying underutilized spaces with a creative mural by and for the community. This unique community event is designed to promote mental and physical well-being while also addressing important safety issues felt by our city and neighbors. Participants will be focusing on themes including internal conflict resolution\, communication\, and self-care. Creating a sense of connection and safety encourages community members to take an active role in promoting health and wellness within the environment for themselves as well as those around them. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to engage in a talkback with the hosts and wellness creatives\, sharing resources and strategies for staying safe and being healthy in our daily lives. Feedback from the community will be gathered and recorded to ensure that future discussions continue to meet the needs of the participants and address the most pressing safety concerns from our community’s perspective. \nDoors open at 3 pm \nCommunity Mural will travel and evoke conversations throughout the city during the Spring and Summer seasons 2024. We look forward to capturing your voices and creating an interactive experience! \nSupported by Feet First Philly Public Space Enhancement Mini-grant partially funded by Philadelphia’s Department of Public Health Division of Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention \n
