  • Roxborough Student Resource Fair

    May is Mental Health Awareness Month and Interact is hosting a Student Resource Fair on Mental Health Action Day on Thurs 5/16/24 at Pocket Park in Roxborough (about a block down from Greenridge Counseling Center). We’ll be offering students free refreshments and haircuts while we provide mental health resources and talk to them about summer camp and work opportunities to keep them safely engaged through the summer months.

    This event raises awareness and provides community support around sexual, domestic, and interpersonal violence. The event begins at 6pm with a march (from 36th and Chestnut) to the First Unitarian church. Once there, there is a street action to increase education around the cause and the importance of consent. After this there is an open speak out session where survivors and supporters are able to break the silence that often follows these experiences.   • How We Heal: Film Screening and Mental Health Panel Discussion

    Delaware County Intermediate Unit 200 Yale Ave, Morton, United States

    Children First, in partnership with Healthy News Works, is hosting a film screening about student mental health and trauma. How We Heal is a 20-minute film developed by students to learn ways that people can heal from mental health challenges and trauma. The students who created this film spoke with therapists, pediatricians, a dancer, and an NFL player to discuss what healing is and ways one can heal when facing a difficult time.
