SUMMARY:Certified Peer Specialist Training
DESCRIPTION:The CPS Certification Training is a 75-hour program\, delivered live and in person over 10 training days. It provides foundational knowledge\, skills\, and values that prepare individuals to work as Peer Supporters in Pennsylvania. \nTraining topics include: \nThe History of Recovery and Peer Support \nRecovery Values \nWRAP Seminar I \nCPS Core Competencies \nOutreach and Engagement \nStages of Change \nIntroduction to Motivational Interviewing \nEthics and Boundaries \nDocumentation \nMental Models / Ladder of Inference \nDiversity and Worldview \nSupport for Transitions \nCredentialing and Job Search \nTo successfully complete the training\, participants must maintain consistent attendance\, fully participate in activities and assignments\, and achieve satisfactory scores on two weekly tests. Graduates become eligible to sit for the PA Certification Board exam\, required for full certification.
