DESCRIPTION:September is National Recovery Month which gives us an opportunity to increase public awareness about the power of recovery. We celebrate victory over addiction\, promote evidence-based treatment and recovery practices\, and honor the strong\, proud recovery community and the service providers and communities who work with us towards our vision of “Transforming Lives Through Sustained Recovery!” \nReports of drug overdoses and an alarming number of deaths remain at the forefront of discussions about addiction\, which experts say is a grim reality of the current nationwide crisis. \nBut it can overshadow the fact that nearly three in four people who ever struggle with substance use survive and go on to live in recovery\, according to national estimates. \nThousands of people are expected to gather in Philadelphia’s Navy Yard Saturday to recognize those in addiction recovery during PRO-ACT’s annual Recovery Walks! event. \nDate: Saturday\, September 20\, 2025\nTime: 9:00 am – 12:00 noon\nLocation: Navy Yard Philadelphia\, Marine Parade Grounds\, 4747 South Broad Street\, Philadelphia
