SUMMARY:DBHIDS Sponsored Trauma 101 & Trauma 102
DESCRIPTION:Trauma 101: This course introduces trauma theory\, beginning with understanding the brain/body stress response\, and then exploring the short- and long-term impact of adversity\, toxic stress and trauma. We include discussion of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) research\, Historical Trauma and Social Determinants of distress as well as buffering factors and resiliency. \nTrauma 102: Building on basic understanding of trauma\, this course introduces the principles of trauma-informed care as implemented in a Peer Support relationship. We include strategies and introduction to specific tools for supporting service recipients’ recovery from trauma\, as well as strategies for managing vicarious trauma among peer service providers. This training will include the opportunity to begin to practice relevant trauma-informed skills.

SUMMARY:Formación en narración de cuentos bilingües de Ur Storytellers
DESCRIPTION:Storytelling es una capacitación facilitada por UrStorytellers en colaboración con el Departamento de Salud Conductual y Servicios para Discapacidad Intelectual (DBHIDS) de la Ciudad. Esta capacitación es una de las muchas que están aprobadas como requisito previo obligatorio para los solicitantes que desean alcanzar el objetivo de convertirse en un Especialista Certificado en Pares. Nuestro objetivo es informar a las comunidades religiosas y de recuperación sobre cómo compartir sus historias y la importancia de compartirlas en entornos comunitarios. Esta capacitación tendrá una duración de 4 horas\, se impartirá en formato PowerPoint y se enriquecerá con actividades interactivas. Una vez finalizada la capacitación\, todos los participantes recibirán un certificado de finalización.
