DESCRIPTION:Storytelling is a training facilitated by Ur Storytellers in collaboration with the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many that are approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue the goal of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories and the importance of sharing them in community settings. This training will be 4 hrs. in length\, delivered in a PowerPoint format\, and interactive activities will enhance this training. After the conclusion of the training\, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.

This event will feature a dynamic keynote speaker and three interactive breakout sessions designed to educate\, empower\, and equip participants with tools for healing and resilience: \n– Supporting Men’s Mental Health – Exploring approaches to emotional wellness and support. \n– Fatherhood and Mental Wellbeing – Understanding the emotional landscape of fatherhood and building balance through connection and care. \n– Creating a Crisis Response Plan (Introduction to Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP) Session) – Developing personalized strategies for maintaining wellness and managing crisis moments. \nTogether\, we will affirm men’s experiences\, strengthen community\, and advance the shared vision of hope\, healing\, and zero male suicide.
