DESCRIPTION:Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church will host its Back to School Community Day on Saturday\, August 16\, 2025\, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.\, offering a fun-filled and resource-rich afternoon for children and families in West Philadelphia. \nThis free event will feature exciting activities including a bounce house\, pony rides\, African-American Stilt Ballet\, African drummers\, a DJ\, face painting\, free haircuts\, games\, and a $50 prize “Boots on the Ground” fitness and dance contest for the best country outfit. \nChildren will receive free bookbags\, school supplies\, and books to prepare for the new school year. In addition to entertainment\, the event will connect the community to important resources\, with information tables on voter registration\, health and wellness\, youth programs\, educational opportunities\, and mental health services.
