Online Story Telling Training

Storytelling Through Health and Wellness is a training that is facilitated by UrStorytellers and in collaboration with the City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many training's that has been approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue goals of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories in addition to the importance of sharing them in community settings. This training is delivered by Zoom online, power point format and interactive activities that enhance this training. At the conclusion of the training, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.


Parent Cafe: “Finding Ways to Care for Me”

A parent café is a place where parents of all types can gather and share their stories, their experiences, their worries, their fears, their wisdom, and find community and strength together. Through open communication, they become places of affirmation where parents can learn that they are not alone in their struggles with managing their families and households.

Virtual Service Fair

Celebrate National Volunteer Month with the Mayor’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service at their Virtual Service Fair on April 8. The service fair will feature organizations with volunteer opportunities and give participants a chance to chat one-on-one with representatives to learn about how to get engaged and give back.
