Storytelling Through Health and Wellness is a training that is facilitated by UrStorytellers and in collaboration withthe City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many training's that has been approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue goals of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories in addition to the importance of sharing them in community settings. This 4 hr training is delivered in a power point format, interactive activities also enhance this training. At the conclusion of the training, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.
We invite you to attend this weekly learning series to connect with experts in many topics of interest to our staff, peers and members. Our experts will provide information and resources to create an informative experience with topics that impact the recovering community. The goal is to provide a topical educational series benefitting Recovery Support Specialists (RSS) working with peers by increasing their knowledge and access to services for special populations. The Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Group seeks to help loss survivors cope, connect, and work toward healing. Trained group facilitators are suicide loss survivors who know firsthand how difficult it can be to find your way after losing someone to suicide. The group is open to anyone 18 years or older who is grieving a loss due to suicide. The group is free and confidential.
