Members of the Southwest Philadelphia community have multifaceted needs. Through this fair, we aim to address some of those needs by providing basic health screenings, healthy food distribution, and connecting members to insurance services. In addition, we aim to address some of the social determinants of health by distributing winter clothing and necessities. To enact lasting change, we will engage local representatives to make them aware of needs and demonstrate the community’s willingness to show up for themselves.

Renee Howard, President of the 48th and Woodland Playground Advisory Committee, Tim King, Facility Supervisor of the 48th and Woodland Playground, and Earl Woods, an engaged community member, all serve as representatives for the Playground and have helped bring it to life. Students from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine who have assisted with planning and organizing are Deanna Gorgei OMS-IV, Arianna Gray OMS-II, Margaret Hurley OMS-II, and Raushaun Williams OMS-II. Deanna Gorgei will serve as point of contact and can be reached by email at dmgorgei@gmail.com or by telephone at 202-489-1988.
