(Virtual Conversation) For Teens – RACE: Let’s Talk About It
June 12 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
On May 25, 2020, George Floyd’s death profoundly changed America. His life tragically ended in a scenario that is so prevalent and so painful that it has woken up millions across the nation. The groundswell of concern is asking that we re-examine who we are as a country and it has challenged people of all races to understand the experience of being a black person in America.
From Philadelphia to communities across Montgomery, Delaware, Bucks and Chester Counties, we are not remaining silent. We are saying loudly and decisively to our black parents, children and community residents, “WE HEAR YOU.”
We are especially inspired that America’s children are leading so much of the dialogue, protests and demand for change.
On Friday, June 12th at 11 am, we invite the region’s teens to join in a virtual conversation focusing on the most important issue of our time – RACE.
We want to hear from our students about their experiences with race and racism and discuss tangible steps they can take to lead conversations among their peers about race.
We are inviting adults to join the conversation to hear what our young people have to say.
