First Person Arts Festival presents “Late Father & Other Poems”

November 10 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We invite you to participate in this series of FREE poetry readings & our signature First Person Arts StoryShare Circles in the communities where you live. We want to hear your stories of becoming a Philadelphian Taylor Mali is one of the most well-known poets to emerge from the poetry slam movement. Of his new collection, Late Father & Other Poems, Mali admits “…all the smallest parts of me… can let down their tiny burdens all at once.” The combination of presentation skills learned at Oxford alongside members of The Royal Shakespeare Company and his experience as one of the original poets to appear on the HBO series Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry will make this a thrilling evening of poetry, performance, and exploration of becoming a parent and partner. FOLLOWING THE ARTIST’S READING WILL BE A STORY CIRCLE FACILITATED BY FIRST PERSON ARTS WHERE NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS CAN SHARE THEIR STORIES OF BECOMING PHILADELPHIANS.
