On March 30 at 6pm, we’re holding a town hall to collectively envision a recovery that sends our children back to schools that are safer, cleaner, and healthier than they have ever been before. Watch live on Councilmember Helen Gym’s Facebook page.
Philadelphia stands to gain over $2 billion in federal relief as part of the largest federal infusion of funding in history. Our schools could see hundreds of millions of dollars in new investments. It’s up to us to collectively build a vision for youth recovery that leaves us stronger than ever.
Over the next month, City Council’s Committee on Children and Youth is convening public forums to build a youth-powered agenda for new investments. We’re partnering with young people and advocates from across the city to hold these public events starting March 30, and throughout the month of April. We’ll hear from youth about their concerns and vision for safer and more supportive schools, for programs that nurture and empower the young people they serve, and for a system of mental healthcare that provides a crucial safety net for our children.
