The Lighthouse, Inc Committee is excited to host our Back to School Event on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., at the Lighthouse Field along East Erie Avenue across from St. Christopher’s Hospital.

The Lighthouse is considered the oldest nonprofit organization to exist in the city of Philadelphia. With a rich history in human services, the Lighthouse specializes in early childhood education, youth sports and recreation programs and community engagement and violence prevention initiatives. Located in the heart of the opioid epidemic, the lighthouse is considered a “beacon of hope” to its community and safe haven to all who call North Philadelphia home.

One of the big draws to this event is the access to the valuable information provided to students, families, and community members from many providers and organizations in the community. In addition, there will be food, live music, raffles, and school supplies.

The Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC) will be present at this event sharing information regarding the mental health services provided to children and their families. CCTC will also host child behavioral health screenings for those families who are interested in completing them as this would help determine if children require further evaluation for further services. In addition to information provided CCTC will have some giveaways for children and families.
