SUMMARY:Back to School Bash
DESCRIPTION:The Lighthouse\, Inc Committee is excited to host our Back to School Event on Saturday\, August 13\, 2022\, from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.\, at the Lighthouse Field along East Erie Avenue across from St. Christopher’s Hospital. \nThe Lighthouse is considered the oldest nonprofit organization to exist in the city of Philadelphia. With a rich history in human services\, the Lighthouse specializes in early childhood education\, youth sports and recreation programs and community engagement and violence prevention initiatives. Located in the heart of the opioid epidemic\, the lighthouse is considered a “beacon of hope” to its community and safe haven to all who call North Philadelphia home. \nOne of the big draws to this event is the access to the valuable information provided to students\, families\, and community members from many providers and organizations in the community. In addition\, there will be food\, live music\, raffles\, and school supplies. \nThe Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC) will be present at this event sharing information regarding the mental health services provided to children and their families. CCTC will also host child behavioral health screenings for those families who are interested in completing them as this would help determine if children require further evaluation for further services. In addition to information provided CCTC will have some giveaways for children and families.

SUMMARY:Child Abuse Awareness Month: Discipline Then vs. Now
DESCRIPTION:On April 22nd 5pm-7pm we are hosting “Disciple Then Vs. Now”. The purpose of this event is to highlight Child Abuse Awareness month through age-appropriate topical discussions and activities. We hope to not only empower people to seek help and support with past traumas\, but foster healthier relationships between generations moving forward. \nJJPI will be providing Behavioral Health screenings.
