SUMMARY:Transgender Day of Visibility 2023 Flag Raising Event Toolkit
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, March 31st @ noon\, the Office of LGBT Affairs will host a Flag Raising Event honoring Transgender Day of Visibility at the City Hall North Apron Flag Poles. In addition to raising the Transgender Pride flag; this year’s program will include speakers from across Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ community sharing the many ways they’re making an impact in our city. \nSpeakers will remind our attendees what’s at stake as the trans community faces increasing attacks on our trans young people\, trans athletes\, and trans communities across the country. We’ll share what we’re doing to combat this fight\, and how you can get involved. Following the speakers’ portion of the program\, the Transgender Pride flag will be raised accompanied by a live vocalist\, and member of the trans community\, in an inspiring musical performance.\nThe event will be live streamed via the Office of LGBT Affairs’ Instagram account\, and will feature ASL interpretation services. \nDeadline to post: March 31\, 2023
