SUMMARY:Best Buddies Friendship Walk
DESCRIPTION:If you believe that everyone deserves to be included – at school\, at work and in the community- then we invite you to meet us in King of Prussia for the 2023 Best Buddies Friendship Walk! Join hundreds of local community members\, including participants from over 85 of our eastern PA school chapters\, who support inclusion for people with disabilities and celebrate the joy that friendship can bring! \nThe Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the number one walk in the country raising awareness and funds to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The walk plays a key role in funding Best Buddies programs dedicated to one-to-one friendships\, leadership development\, integrated employment and inclusive living for individuals with IDD. Each walk provides an opportunity to see the Best Buddies mission in action at a local level. Since the walk’s inception in 2009\, more than 150\,000 participants in 60 cities have walked to raise awareness for inclusion\, friendship and opportunity for people with IDD. \nOur Friendship Walk in King of Prussia will bring together supporters from communities across eastern PA at Freedom Business Center for a fun-filled morning that celebrates our mission and raises funds to help us make an impact in new schools and communities throughout our area. Attendees will enjoy music\, vendors\, refreshments and activities followed by our inspiring opening ceremonies where we’ll recognize some of the outstanding leaders in our community and hear from our Best Buddies Ambassadors about how our mission has impacted their lives. Then we’ll take our symbolic steps toward a more inclusive world by collectively making our way down Freedom Drive\, and up First Avenue returning to 630 Freedom Business Center where the fun\, food and fellowship continues.
