SUMMARY:UrStorytellers Story Telling Training
DESCRIPTION:Storytelling is a training facilitated by UrStorytellers in collaboration with the City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many approved prerequisites for applicants who want to become Certified Peer Specialists. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories and the importance of sharing them in community settings. This training will be 3 hrs. at length\, delivered in a power point format\, and interactive activities enhance this training. After the training\, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.

DESCRIPTION:The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania\, Inc. (The Council) will offer the Supporting Youth Recovery: Peer Paraprofessional Certificate in Supporting Youth Recovery program. Unique to this program is the enhanced version of Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) approved standardized Recovery Specialist (RS) Training to prepare peer paraprofessionals to include addressing the unmet behavioral health needs of children\, adolescents\, and young adults with a substance use disorder (SUD) and their families to provide RS to youth and young adults in recovery from a SUD and their families.

DESCRIPTION:*Trigger Warning*: This training involves detailed discussions of drug use\, overdoses\, and demonstrations on how to use Narcan. If you have any concerns\, please feel free to email SUPHR staff at overdose.prevention@phila.gov \nThis training provides background information and data on opioid use\, Philadelphia’s drug supply\, and overdoses in our city. There is also a detailed description of how to recognize and respond to an opioid-related overdose with naloxone\, or Narcan. The training is approximately 1.5 hours with an additional 15 minutes for questions. \nYou can choose to have Narcan discreetly mailed to you after the training. We aim to prioritize our Narcan supply for those with the least access to Narcan and those most likely to witness an overdose. If you have the resources to acquire Narcan on your own\, please consider going to your local pharmacy to get it.

Unique to this program is the enhanced version of Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) approved standardized Recovery Specialist (RS) Training to prepare peer paraprofessionals to include addressing the unmet behavioral health needs of children\, adolescents\, and young adults with a substance use disorder (SUD) and their families to provide RS to youth and young adults in recovery from a SUD and their families.

DESCRIPTION:*Trigger Warning*: This training involves detailed discussions of drug use\, overdoses\, and demonstrations on how to use Narcan. If you have any concerns\, please feel free to email SUPHR staff at overdose.prevention@phila.gov \nThis training provides background information and data on opioid use\, Philadelphia’s drug supply\, and overdoses in our city. There is also a detailed description of how to recognize and respond to an opioid-related overdose with naloxone\, or Narcan. The training is approximately 1.5 hours with an additional 15 minutes for questions. \nYou can choose to have Narcan discreetly mailed to you after the training. We aim to prioritize our Narcan supply for those with the least access to Narcan and those most likely to witness an overdose. If you have the resources to acquire Narcan on your own\, please consider going to your local pharmacy to get it.

DESCRIPTION:Storytelling is a training facilitated by UrStorytellers in collaboration with the City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many trainings that is approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue the goals of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories and in addition to the importance of sharing them in community settings. This training will be 3 hrs. at length\, delivered in a power point format\, and interactive activities enhance this training. After the conclusion of the training\, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.
