DESCRIPTION:Conscious Queens is an annual educational workshop promoting wellness for girls of color. It is a collaboration of partners\, students\, and community members throughout the city and the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). Multiple community organizations will attend to share wellness techniques to educate young Black girls on how to be physically and emotionally well. Conscious Queens introduces participants to a healthier lifestyle and mindset. SUMMARY:UrStorytellers Online Storytelling Training
DESCRIPTION:Storytelling is a training facilitated by UrStorytellers in collaboration with the City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many trainings that is approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue the goals of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories and in addition to the importance of sharing them in community settings. This training will be 3 hrs. at length\, delivered in a power point format\, and interactive activities enhance this training. After the conclusion of the training\, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Unique to this program is the enhanced version of Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) approved standardized Recovery Specialist (RS) Training to prepare peer paraprofessionals to include addressing the unmet behavioral health needs of children\, adolescents\, and young adults with a substance use disorder (SUD) and their families to provide RS to youth and young adults in recovery from a SUD and their families.

CCTC will also be providing behavioral health screenings for children and their families. \nLabcorp will be providing lab test free of charge to everyone. No insurance required for lab work. \nThe ALS Hope Foundation will also be providing Dementia Mini Mental screenings and premier a screening tool for Parkinson’s Disease. \nThe festival is sponsored by multiple community organizations including Hispanic Community Counseling Services\, Children’s Crisis Treatment Center\, Concilio\, Casa de Consejería\, Philadelphia Prevention Partnership\, The Lighthouse\, Crisol Contigo\, Lagom Cares\, Fortaleza\, and Siempre Salsa Philadelphia. \nWe encourage you to come out and enjoy the festival\, and take advantage of the resources and activities available.
