SUMMARY:Philadelphia Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day
DESCRIPTION:Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day is a national event that takes place annually on or around December 21st\, the first day of winter and longest night of the year. Since the early 1990s\, a coalition of Philadelphia advocates\, providers\, and homeless and formerly homeless persons have organized a gathering to honor the many individuals who have lost their lives and recommit to working to bring an end to homelessness in the city of Philadelphia. \nWe are still gathering names of Philadelphians who experienced homelessness at some point in their lives and died in 2022 (or since last year’s memorial on 12/21/22). \nPlease submit names here or email them to memorial@projecthome.org. You may also contact Wen Epstein-Fisher at 215-320-0846 to submit names. We need to collect all the names for the event by 5PM on Wednesday\, 12/14/2022. \nThank you for helping us make sure we honor the lives of all of those in our community. We look forward to seeing you on December 21. \nThe Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day Planning Committee\nprojecthome.org/memorial
