This 6-hour training will enhance your comprehension and understanding of LGBTQ+ issues, including and not limited to terminology, overall stigmas and issues, solidarity models, and power dynamics. This course can be applied to CPS. To qualify for this scholarship funded training, you must: (a) Be a Philadelphia resident; (b) Identify as a Peer or person with lived experience. UrStorytellers Storytelling Training

Storytelling Through Health and Wellness is a training that is facilitated by UrStorytellers and in collaboration withthe City of Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). This training is one of many training's that has been approved as a required prerequisite for applicants who want to pursue goals of becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Our goal is to inform the recovery and faith-based communities on how to share their stories in addition to the importance of sharing them in community settings. This 4 hr training is delivered in a power point format, interactive activities also enhance this training. At the conclusion of the training, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Book Reading: Regaining Hope

How do you regain hope after you’ve lost it? Join author Jordana Chana Mayim to discover some answers to that question. She’ll share her forthcoming book: If You Ever Lose Hope... It’s an illustrated story for teenagers and adults about how to regain hope. This book was born out of her own struggles with and healing from depression. Jordana will also share with you the story behind the story, including how she made the illustrations. There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions afterwards.
