The CPS Certification Training is a 75-hour program, delivered live and in person or over 10 training days, or hybrid with one week in person, and one week online. It provides foundational knowledge, skills, and values that prepare individuals to work as Peer Supporters in Pennsylvania. Supporting Youth and Young Adults Training (Sponsored by DBHIDS)

This 8-hour course provides the participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct CPS work with young adults. Its design incorporates young adult learning strategies and principles, promotes critical thinking, and self-directed and experiential learning to replicate the practice of recovery and peer support. The course centers on the recovery model of behavioral health and on the core values and practices guiding peer-to-peer emotional and psychological wellness. When former DBHIDS team member, Brooke Feldman, passed the torch as lead captain of Team DBHIDS for PRO-ACT’s Recovery Walks! to Manager of Provider Development and Transformation Initiatives, Andrea Brooks in 2014, it signified the beginning of a partnership between two champions of recovery.
