Upcoming Peace of Mind | Mental Health Screening Day hosted by THE PLACE OF REFUGE in association with the “Kensington Wins - Jesus Week” activities (7/17-7/25)—will take place during the McPherson Square Park Cleanup scheduled for this Saturday!! Refuge will have tables set up outdoors near the playground at McPherson Square Park from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, July 24th, 2021 at 601 E. Indiana Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19134—at the corner of Kensington & Indiana Ave. Free to the public! This bilingual, mental health wellness event will be a chance to drop by and check-in with a professional counselor! If you ever wondered about counseling for yourself or someone close to you—then this is a great way to find out more! In connection with the cleanup scheduled all afternoon—Refuge will be conducting free, on-the-spot, mental health screenings and will have two of their Master’s level therapists available to meet with you and go over your results right away. Screenings will be available in English and Spanish, and they will be sharing information about common mental health challenges and wellness resources. In partnership with LIFEWTR, Philadelphia-based wellness artist Shanina Dionna presents her 1st film & largest painting about mental health. "show up (pt.2)" is a mental health project featuring 13 sacred narratives from local Pennsylvania residents. In conversation with Greater Philadelphia-based visual and performing wellness artist, shanina dionna, the dialogues span the perspectives and experiences of musicians, curators, influencers, painters, family and a licensed therapist. * Free mental health screenings and resources will be provided by the Department of Behavioral Health & Intellectual disAbility Services during the exhibition. Join WOAR for our first annual healthy masculinity 5k walk. Engage in conversations about Men’s health, wellness and holistic development of masculinity. All community members of any age/gender who are passionate about men’s health are welcome to join. We are asking all attendees to please wear blue in support of Men's Health Month. What to expect- •Before the walk, WOAR will be providing light refreshments, masks, hand sanitizer, and gloves. •We will be walking 5k (3.1 miles) starting and ending at local shop Wave Nutrition.
