Healing and Strength: Philadelphia seeks to give check-ups from the neck up this National Depression Screening Day, October 9th, 2014.
National Depression Screening Day (NDSD) is held annually during Mental Health Awareness Week as part of an effort to reach as many people as possible. The goal: to educate the public about depression and other mental health challenges; to de-stigmatize perceptions around mental health and seeking help for mental health challenges; and to screen, support and refer as many people as possible to appropriate services. This year, the DBHIDS will be hosting an in-person screening event on NDSD and will partner with a number of providers and organizations around the city in a shared effort to provide “check-ups from the neck up”.
